Application
Madison Hoop Dreams School of Basketball
The School of Basketball is one of the best programs we offer. It provides an opportunity for players to develop their ball handling skills and pure shooting form.' With improved skills. players gain self-confidence and enhance their love of basketball. We will offer a clinic every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from March 1st to May 31st at the Polson Middle School (302 Greenhill Rd Madison) for grades 3 - 8 from 6:30 PM to 7:45 PM. We have 3 outstanding instructors: Coach Brett Zanardi, Coach Bobby Moore, and Coach Rich Pagliuca.
Similar instruction, given in a private lesson, would probably cost $60/hr. We charge $16/hr ($20 for the hour and 15 minutes). Payments can be made daily, weekly, monthly, or in total. There is a discount for monthly or in total. If going all of March, the 14 days is $250. If going all days in April, the 11 days is $200. If going all days in May, the total is $250. For all days, the total for 39 days is $675. If finances are a problem for any family, we offer financial help. Just call me at 203-494-6905 to request assistance.

April Vacation Basketball Camp
Many families leave on vacation for the week. However, most families stay at home. Therefore, we annually offer a nice alternative for families to give their kids an opportunity to improve their love of basketball with a week of competition and fun. This year, we were able to get the Polson gym (302 Greenhill Rd, Madison) for our camp! There are 14 hoops for campers to use. There are 4 courts if needed. We will have a great coaching staff to help each player improve. Drawing from over 15 towns, there is good competition and an opportunity to make new friends. Players in grades 3 - 9 are welcome to join us from 9 AM to 3 PM each day.
I hope that every family receiving this email will share it with their teammates, neighbors and friends. With 4 courts, we can host up to 80 players. If requested, we will try to keep friends or teammates on the same team. However, if teams are not balanced, we make trades to ensure competitive games every day.
The cost is $50 per day for up to 3 days. If you attend 4 or 5 days, the cost is $45 per day. Since we are a non-profit, we have financial assistance for families experiencing financial hardship. Just call me at 203-494-6905 to make me aware of your need (information is private).
I also want you to know that as a non-profit, we currently give each of the following charities $50 every month: St Jude's Children's Hospital, Wounded Warriors, and Shriner's Children's Hospital. In addition, we give $100 each month to Tunnel to Towers (T2T.org). Your support of our programs enables us to make these donations. The amount of college scholarships we give each year depends on the enrollment in our summer camps

Summer Basketball Camp
Wow! This year marks our 29th year offering summer basketball camps, For over 20 of those years, we were the most popular basketball day camp in CT. We anticipate an outstanding summer at the HK Middle School (451 Ct Rt 81, Killingworth)! It is a beautiful facility with 3 full courts. Our focus will be on having lots of fun as we work on shooting and ball handling fundamentals as well as building a solid foundation of basic defensive skills and a spirit of teamwork. If, when you pick up your kids at the end of the day, they are exhausted, exhilarated, and anxious to return the next day, then we figure we've done a pretty good job.
We are there each day, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, for an extra ½ hour before and our regular session (9 AM to 3 PM). Players can use the time to work on their shooting skills. The extra time is to accommodate parent's work schedule. Week 1 June 19 --- 24; week 2 June 26 --- 30; week 3 July 10 --- 14; week 4 July 17 --- 21; week 5 July 24 --- 28; week 6 July31 --- August 4. Our camp Director is Brett Zanardi (Assistant Men's Varsity Coach at Conn College) assisted by Bobby Moore (a basketball legend from New Haven) . Our Co-Director is my daughter, Tammy Boris( Coach Tammy). Our full time trainer is the trainer for over 25 years at DHHS, Terri Ajaski. Our staff incudes college students assisted by current high school players. Our player to coach ratio is less than 5 to 1.
One week of camp is $300. Two weeks or two campers is $275/camper/week. Three weeks or three campers is $250/camper/week. Four weeks or four campers is $225/camper/week Five or more weeks is $200/camper/week.
I encourage you to register early in order to avoid being placed on a waiting list. Not to worry, should your plans change, deposits are refundable given adequate notice or for emergencies. And if your child wants to attend my camp but your checking account says otherwise, please don't be bashful. Put your request for financial assistance in writing (wabarker@snet.net) or please call Coach Bill Barker (203-494-6905) and I'll make every effort to make this summer one your child will never forget. If you prefer to pay on an installment plan, please contact Coach Bill Barker to let him know It wouldn't be a Madison Hoop Dreams Camp without exciting guest speakers, and this year we're going to try to outdo ourselves. I am seeking out members of the UCONN Huskies (men and women --- last summer we had Donavan Clingan, the 7' 2" UCONN center) and the CT. Sun to visit with our campers (including pictures and autographs) and share their unique perspectives on the game we all love so much. We will also have Dave Hopla (the world's best shooter at over 98% accuracy)!
